SCHOOL YEAR 2021/2022 COMES TO AN END While the 2021/2022 school year was not typical, Crossroads made great strides in growing its capabilities to support more students impacted by food insecurity. Shepherd of the Hills 2022 Congregational Retreat will take place May 6-8 at Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp & Retreat Center. This is a great way for people of all ages to enjoy outdoor adventure and relaxation while growing in faith and building community. Holy Week Schedule Palm/Passion Sunday, April 10 A special celebration of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem with special music, palm branch processional, and dramatic reading of the Passion of Christ. Maundy Thursday, April 14 During this service we remember Christ’s last meal with his disciples with the central focus on Jesus’ commandment that we are called to give and receive love in humble service to one another. Children of all ages are welcome to participate in an Easter egg hunt and fellowship time on Sunday, April 17 beginning at 9:45am. Plenty of surprise-filled eggs will be hidden in and around the grassy area to the right of the church building. Join us for the fun—bring a basket or something to carry the eggs you find! Questions? Fellowship was enjoyed by all during our Wednesday evening Lenten gatherings starting with a soup dinner at 6pm followed by worship at 7pm. Soups were provided by various SOTH ministries.
Midweek Lenten Services Lent is a time for contemplation and repentance as we consider God’s enduring faithfulness and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for our salvation. During our midweek Lenten services, we will focus on people of faith who encourage us—through their words and deeds—to build God’s kingdom in this time and place. Please join our Lenten gathering on Wednesday evenings from March 9 – April 6 starting with a soup dinner at 6 pm followed by a service at 7 pm in-person and Zoom. With gratitude and excitement big changes can be seen as the church building expands! In our quest to increase our missions and ministries as well as enhance daily ministry functions we are committed to enlarge the church building. We also look forward to hosting more community events such as Crossroads, Senior Ministry, Scouting and welcoming new gatherings to utilize the increased space. All are welcome!

All are invited to join us and watch the holiday classic “Elf” on Saturday, December 11 at 5:30pm (rain/snow date is December 18) outside of SOTH. Admission is free, but we invite attendees to help local people in need by bringing with them a non – perishable food donation for the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry. We will deliver all donations to the pantry in the week after the movie.
