Shepherd of the Hills partners with Crossroad-Connections to provide weekend meals to food insecure children in Haymarket and Gainesville. This program runs for the 42 weeks of the school year. We provide weekend food bags for approximately 300 children in twelve local schools. There are 4-5 opportunities each month to volunteer to help along with volunteers from other organizations. You too can become part of the Crossroads family. Crossroads-Connection knows that it “takes a village” to provide weekend meals to the food insecure children of Haymarket and Gainesville.

We also know that sometimes life gets busy and it is not always easy to find the time to volunteer. While we hope to see your smiling face at one of our future packing parties, we also want to make helping easy! The website has instructions on how to volunteer or donate. You can also use this QR code to donate:

We periodically run a Blue Bag campaign at church where we ask people to donate these five items:

•          Assorted Pkt. Individual Cereal

•          Nature Valley Granola or Protein Bars

•          Chef Boy R Dee Microwaveable Bowls (Spaghetti & Meatballs)

•          Easy Mac & Cheese Cups

•          Individual Skinny Popcorn or Veggie Straws

You can fill your Blue Bag(s) with any of these five items and return them to church at the designated timeframe.
