Shepherd of the Hills partners with Crossroad-Connections to provide weekend meals to food insecure children in Haymarket and Gainesville. This program runs for the 42 weeks of the school year. We provide weekend food bags for approximately 300 children in twelve local schools. There are 4-5 opportunities each month to volunteer to help along with volunteers from other organizations. Cards for Haiti Fundraiser
Is there someone in your life who has done many thoughtful things that made you feel special? Tell them so this Christmas with a beautiful handmade card and support the children of Haiti at the same time. The cards are $5 and are located on the bookshelf near the church’s front door and you’ll find more in the fellowship hall.
Food & Film Fun July 22! BBQ at 7 PM, Movie at 9 PM
All ages are welcome on Friday, July 22! We will fire up the grill at 7:00 p.m. with burgers and hot dogs cooked to order and lots of outdoor games to play. Selected by SOTH’s Adult Education group, this inspiring story beautifully demonstrates how positive thoughts can transform our lives. SCHOOL YEAR 2021/2022 COMES TO AN END While the 2021/2022 school year was not typical, Crossroads made great strides in growing its capabilities to support more students impacted by food insecurity. Pentecost Kite Flying: Sunday, June 5, 2022
ALL are welcome to come and recognize the gift of the Holy Spirit with the Pentecost kite flying celebration following the late service Sunday, June 5 from 11:45 AM – 1:30 PM! Like the wind, the Spirit is invisible, but we can see the work that it does. Kites, stomp rockets, and other fun activities will be available to all, and pizza will be provided. Sundays at SOTH! 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. – Worship and what you can expect: 9:30 a.m. and until after 10:45 a.m. Worship – Food, Fellowship, and Fun! Build community through chatting, or, if you love a good puzzle or board game, find one in the fellowship hall and enjoy. Weather permitting, there will be outdoor activities too. 9:45 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – Friendship and Faith Building (Education) for All As noted above, all are welcome to come at 9:30 a.m. for food and fellowship of all sorts. Shepherd of the Hills 2022 Congregational Retreat will take place May 6-8 at Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp & Retreat Center.
