Each Sunday during the season of Lent, we sing together, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in me” beautiful words from the psalmist profoundly express the purpose of our Lenten journey, a journey that influences all the days that follow it. This year at Shepherd of the Hills, we will have an opportunity to enrich our faith life through midweek Lenten gatherings on Wednesdays from March 1-29.

Lenten Service Schedule

-Evenings will begin with food and fellowship from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m.

-At 6:45 p.m., Dr. Mark Vitalis-Hoffman, a professor from United Lutheran Seminary (One of our ELCA Seminaries with campuses in Gettysburg and Philadelphia) will join us via stream in the fellowship hall the five weeks of Lent, he will be leading us in a study of Jesus and the Gospels.

-At 7:15 p.m., we will gather in the sanctuary (and streaming) for a contemplative worship service, centered around scripture, prayer, and song from religious communities like Taize, Iona, and Holden Village will guide our worship.

We hope you will find time to pause in the week to gather with your church family as we use this Lenten season to draw close to God and each other.
